Keep Dirt Out of Your Tractor's Hydraulic Couplers
June 19, 2026
Why a little dirt is a big deal
Hydraulic systems run tight tolerances. A speck of grit in a coupler can score a valve, chew up a seal, or circulate through your whole system. On a compact tractor that swaps implements often, those couplers spend a lot of time open and exposed — pointed right up at falling dust, mud, and shop debris.
Plug the open ends
Hydraulic Plugs (set of 4) snap into your open couplers when no implement is connected. They keep dirt out and pull right back off when it's time to hook up — a few seconds of effort that saves your seals.
Cap the implement ends too
Don't forget the hoses you set aside. Protecting both halves means nothing's collecting grit while it sits in the corner of the barn.
A two-minute habit
Plug the tractor, cap the hose, and you've eliminated the most common way dirt gets into a hydraulic system. It's the cheapest insurance on the machine. Browse more parts made to fit your tractor.
